The "Coathanger"/"Dolphin"

A high-resolution image of the "Coathanger" feature released in 2003. This feature is next to the Face and just barely visible on Viking photos.

These unexplained bright lines underscore the Coathanger.

The bright "stitchings" below the hanger-shaped formation are similar to these anomalous markings (see below for context).

This larger, high-contrast image provides context for the "Coathanger" feature. The high albedo of the nearby dome (beneath Coathanger) may be due to the same material that composes the "stitchings" at the base of the Coathanger. (Ice? Glass?)
